Your Bargaining Committee has spent months working tirelessly on members' behalf, with the ultimate goal that a first and fair collective agreement is reached with your Employer. Unfortunately, for the second time in a row, bargaining has been cancelled by the Employer, for reasons that are in the Union's view, unrelated to the negotiation process. The parties were scheduled to meet on June 23rd. Your bargaining committee showed up for talks, your Employer did not. To say we are disappointed is an understatement.
June 23rd was to be an important day of talks for both parties. Your Employer, unwilling at this time to respond to the Union's monetary proposals, had at least expressed a willingness to discuss casino scheduling provisions. We agreed to go to the table to discuss scheduling, only to discover that the Employer had elected to not show up. Disappointing indeed!
Bargaining is set to resume on July 5th, and we expect that the Employer will show up for these agreed upon dates.
In solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee: Cherry Huang, Hayman Sung, Harvinder Jaswal, San Chen, Glenn Matheson, Zenaida Ordonez, Watson Tseng, Eric Escobar
