Voting for the Transition Committee has been completed with the results of Jenny Bardsley, Judy Helset and Steve Kitcher being elected. Since the nomination and election processes were begun, the government announced that FMEP services would continue to be provided by a new Crown agency and that full successorship would apply.

Full successorship means that the current employees and the collective agreement transfer to the new Crown agency with all current entitlements intact. That means that there isn't now anything for the Transition Committee to do. All employees will transfer with all entitlements wholly intact. For this reason the Transition Committee is disbanded immediately.

There is now the matter of bargaining a renewal collective agreement. Nominations will be opened for those elections shortly. The reason for the delay is that the Crown agency (your new employer) doesn't yet exist.

Your Union is working with the Ministry of the Attorney General's office to plan for how a renewal collective agreement will be bargained before the end of the Themis contract on October 31, 2019. As soon as we've got some clarity on that question, nominations will be opened for the positions of Bargaining Committee Chair (1 position) and Bargaining Committee Members (2 positions). As was the case with the Transition Committee, each office will have one representative sitting on the Bargaining Committee.
